Hope my parents don't see this blog else i would be kicked out of my home. Am already kicked out of my home country so i guess it doesn't matter anymore ;-) The first year flew by incidentless except for that occasional verbal hiding from teachers for "cutting classes". More important duties would be sleeping at home, hanging out with my school friends, dancing in the rain and catching cold. No wonder !!!
As i reminisce these old days, Iam convinced that u need a bit of luck to suceed in life I suppose !!!
As i was in my second year... (to be contd)

College Life Part 1
First Day of college... I ragged a senior student.. What ??
Yes you read it right. I ragged a senior without intent of doing so and its when i got to know my college's strict policy on ragging.
I knew him very well. But on this day, whenever i tried talking to him, he would sulk away. I got a bit puzzled, called him aside to the men's restroom :) (as if there is no other safe place on earth) and questioned him. That's when i learnt that irrespective of whether a senior student talks to a junior or vice versa, my college takes to task the senior student - no questions asked. Hail (My College) !!! :)
Now comes the beautiful part of my life. I was proud to have been a part of my class and we called ourselves "The Xenocratz". Each one of us is on our way to reach our destinations and fulfil our dreams. I was one with a passion to music. I had received traditional training from the age of 6 in classical carnatic music. So when i heard that our College music band was holding an audition for new singers, i was first in the line - rehearsing the lines of my first ever learnt song from cinema :) !!!
The audition went well and i was selected into the music club and the exposure it gave me, added a total different dimension to my life - Girls :) !!!

12 th grade results Part 2
To be on the safer side, I went home with my face hung down in shame. (Like i was completely regretting my low scores ;) ). As soon as my parents saw my half moon face, the "TORNADO" started gathering momentum and i was left to its mercy.
Somewhere in the middle of the "TORNADO" , my dad had a glance through my printed results and exclaimed. "He's got a centum in mathematics and his overall score is 95 % !!!" What started off as a "TORNADO" suddenly became a gentle sea breeze. Suddenly i was their dear son who made them proud !! ( A minute ago i was a monkey or a buffalo) .
My God Why are parents sooooo fickle minded ???!!!
Relieved, I went to my room, switched on my music system and went off to bed. When i awoke, i was greeted with the sweet smell of "Payasam" or "Kheer". It was party time.. It was not until i got the official score report that i was convinced that it was REALLY me who had all that numbers beside the subjects (Some call them as "SCORES" :) ).
After the traditional "Our son made us proud" trips to relatives n friend's homes and giving a couple of tips to the colts who were new to the turbulence of studying 12 th grade (Look who's giving tips !!! - Me) , it was time for college selection.
On the day of the counselling - i sat down, staring at my unsure fate and smiling sheepishly at parents of beautiful gals who were discussing strategies for selection of colleges !! Finally my turn came. I gave my options of colleges. All five were sort of the top 10 colleges in my state. I could feel my heart pounding as i watched the green signal pop up beside my options
5....4............3.............................2....................and ..................................and
...................1 (yipeeeeee !!!)
I got the college and the course of my choice !!!
So the interesting phase of life for everyone was to start in my life too....

12 th grade results Part 1
The D-day arrived - The declaration of the 12 th exam results. What is viewed as a life altering combination of marks - and dreaded by every one of us. Not for fear of scoring low marks - but the fear of comparison.
"How Did "Mr X" manage to score THAT much marks when you - with all the comforts in this World - managed to score less than him ?? Monkey, donkey, Buffalo ........ ****** ...." You can fill up the blanks with your personalizations :)
To this day, it is these comparisons which send a shiver down my spine. Nevertheless, I waited for the 12 th results with my fingers crossed and bracing myself for "THE STORM" or should i call it "THUNDER STORM". No. "TORNADO" would be a better selection. Wondering wats that ??
Our Parent's eternal rebukes for not performing !!!
The phone rang.
My heart skipped a beat. It was my friend announcing the arrival of results through the internet. I ran to the nearest net centre and it was full. Damn !!! Luckily i managed to get hold of my buddy who had just seen his results ( and was hanging face down). I consoled him and cajoled him into looking up my results.
The seconds were eternal.. The milliseconds were like years, as i kept my fingers crossed for the server to find my results. Then there it was !!! The results of my through night studies, the results of my hard work ( did I ?? !! who cares ) and the results of my parent's admonishings ( come on guys n gals.. lets give them some credit too :) !! ). I had scored a centum in mathematics n got a good grade in all other subjects

Life Before College
Life before college was pretty much the same for me like others -
Well, let me start off with the interesting phase of everyone's life - College Life
- Had classes at school where the headmaster insisted we speak English but we obviously never did. (Hence Iam in the US ;-) now )
- Got spanked by father for playing in the hot noon sun. ( Not my mistake :-( !! I took all precautions to the extent that i removed my shirt when playing so that it wouldn't get dirty !!! but yet.... )
- Was out at a friend's home, busy - playing video games when my class topper was busy - slogging it out at the chemistry lab. ( Of course he got an extra grade than me. I managed to scrape through that nasty titration BY OTHER MEANS ;-) Got it ?? )
- And here comes what you all are waiting for.. Being a musician has got its own advantages as i realized when i was barely in my 12 th grade. Yep !! I got my first proposal. But the innocent fellow i was then, I ran for dear life - my mom's angry face in front of me. Damned me !!!
I don't regret it though ;-) Wait Wait.. That comes in the second part of my life
Well, let me start off with the interesting phase of everyone's life - College Life
